ABOUT

Join host Julian Booker to hear a selection of music from around the globe that crosses cultures, genres and borders for a trip unlike any other on your radio dial. From acoustic roots, to contemporary electric sounds, Culture Caravan explores and celebrates what makes the people, places, and most of all, sounds, of the world so unique. And in the process, makes it a little smaller for us all to enjoy!

Culture Caravan is produced in partnership with WNCW in Spindale, NC.

Julian’s radio career began as a teenager at WSTW-FM / WDEL-AM in Wilmington, DE, when he began working with with his father, Pete. After graduating from Temple University in 2009, he began working in the Philadelphia live music scene as well as HD station, Graffiti Radio. From 2014-2025, he was the Sunday morning host of the long-running show, Sleepy Hollow, on WXPN and currently hosts the late-night year-in-music-focused Transmissions from the Time Machine on WNCW and the syndicated show Culture Caravan, which is produced in partnership with the station. His professional credits also include work as co-producer, writer, editor and audio engineer for Osiris Media’s Festival Circuit: Newport Folk podcast with Carmel Holt, tour manager and front-of-house engineer for nationally-touring artist Marco Benevento and serving as production & project director for the Philadelphia-based live concert and event company, Rising Sun Presents. He is currently the Associate Program Director for Jazz and host of Saturday night’s The Get Down on WRTI. His love of international music is, in part, inspired by international travels with his partner, Holly, including trips to Portugal, Vietnam, Japan, Colombia, and Mexico. He also enjoys spending time with his dog, Neko.
